Sitting up

I finally put together Cade's Christmas gift from Uncle Andy, Auntie Jill and Phillip. It is a great motivator to get Cade to sit. The bear on top dances and is apparently kind of mesmerizing. He did fall over shortly after he completely let go but he's getting better with his balance.

Here's a better video of his creeping. He's getting fast :)

Catch up

It's been over 2 weeks already since I updated the blog. We've been busy as usual. I guess I'll start from the last post. At the beginning of the month, my parents went to Phoenix to visit friends and their dog stayed with us. Poor Kira was bored out of her mind since normally she gets walks every day and around here that just doesn't happen any more. Our dogs have gotten used to it. Since my parents flew out on MSP, they stayed with us the night before they left and Sean drove them to the airport and then I picked them up and they stayed that night too. It's always nice to have my parents around. I wish that we lived closer to them and Grandpa Phil so Cade would get to see them all more. The night that my parents came back we experimented with letting Cade fall asleep on his own. It didn't go so well. He screamed for 10 min and I went to check on him, then he screamed for another 10 minutes and Sean went to check on him and he had puked all over. Poor baby. So, he got a bath and all of his bedding got changed and Sean sat with him until he fell asleep. Someday he will fall asleep on his own, just not anytime soon. Then after my parents left, Grandpa Phil came into town. On Sat, Sean and I had appointments at Jill's salon. This was the first time she had cut and colored my hair (just because the salon is up in Shoreview) and she did an awesome job. If you are ever in Shoreview and you need something done with your hair, or a manicure or pedicure, check out Island Lake Salon. She cut Sean's hair first and then Sean and Cade went to hang out with Phil, Andy and Phillip while I got my hair done. Sean came back to pick me up and we stayed at Andy and Jill's through dinner. We hope to make it up there at least every 8 weeks to get our hair done and have dinner with Andy, Jill and Phillip. On Feb 10th, Sean and I celebrated 2 years since our 1st date. He picked up takeout from Salut in Edina (where we had dinner on our date) and we had a very nice evening. Also, that day I was surprised by the delivery of a new washing machine. Sean and I had talked about it but he just decided to order it and told me that there would be a delivery. I was thinking maybe flowers but then a big truck pulled up. So, I got to hang out with the delivery men in my PJs. It is a great washer though. Now, we need the dryer to match. That Thursday, Cade and I met Amy, Evan, Sarah, Mimi, Lisa and Brooke at Bread & Chocolate in St. Paul. It was good food, good coffee and a good time. That afternoon, I brought Cade in for his synagis shot and found out that he had finally made it to 15 lbs. Yeah for our peanut! His cousin still outweighs him by a couple of pounds :) For Valentine's day we went to my friend Kristie's youngest daughter's 1st birthday party. It was fun to get the chance to see Kristie, Tom, Ashley and Brooke. Even though Kristie and I are really close friends we don't get a chance to get together very often.

After the party, Sean and I went to Byerly's to pick up food and then Sean made dinner. It was nice to have good food at home and Sean does an awesome job on the grill. On Sunday, we just hung out at home and actually watched Iron Man that we had for over a month. Sean and I both liked it. Sean had Monday off for President's day and we made a quick trip up to Albertville to return something and bought Cade a couple of things. It was nice to get out as a family. On Tuesday, the PT from the schools came for Cade's evaluation. I wasn't sure how it would go but he continues to impress me with the things that he can do. With just a little pressure on his feet, he can push forward and he can get into the crawling position with a little help and rock a little. His sitting is also improving. He's still having a tough time staying up for any length of time but the PT wasn't concerned because part of why he can't hold himself in the sitting position is that he's too busy playing. The main thing for me to do is to make sure that he spends more time on his tummy and sitting and less time standing. Cade loves to stand but to improve his skills he must be on his tummy or sitting. Since we've been working on creeping more, Cade can do it on his own now without me pushing on his feet. He still wants to roll to the side a little but is getting the hang of staying on his tummy. Check out the video. Also, he's been talking alot. It seems like he's trying to have a conversation and will go on and on. The video attached doesn't really show the full extent of it but you get the idea.

Our goofy boy

Here's Cade's new facial expression. It's even better when there isn't food all over his face but every time I get the camera out he stops making the face.
