Today we had Cade's one year appointment. The doctor was pleased with Cade's progress and growth. He has no concerns at this time. He felt like Cade was basically equivalent to lots of other 1 year olds. He asked if Cade had been seen in the Children's follow-up clinic. When I said no, he suggested that we give them a call. He said that Cade would be a positive addition to Children's research since he is doing so well. I'll give them a call and see what they say. He is still a little bean pole. Here's the stats:
Weight: 16 1/2 lbs, not on the curve for 12 months, 5th percentile for 9 months
Length: 29 in, 24 percentile for 12 months, 75th percentile for 9 months
Head circumference: 17.4 in, 4th percentile for 12 months, 25th percentile for 9 months
On Monday, ECSE came for their monthly visit and they said Cade is doing basically exactly what he should be doing for his adjusted age. We worked on showing Cade how to sit up, kneel and stand. He can get himself into a kneeling position by crawling onto a couch cushion. Then, he can get into a standing position. He can also stand against the couch and play with his toys. He still can't get himself from tummy to sitting but that should happen soon.
